Nominate a Bedford County Family in Need
Newton Chevrolet GMC has been in Shelbyville for almost four years now, helping families and individuals purchase the car or truck of their dreams. We are proud to be a part of this community, both in providing vehicles and in giving back. We have given back through multiple school and sport program sponsorships and, more recently, a $10,000 scholarship giveaway to a lucky Bedford County student. This year, as 2020 has been so hard on many of us, we want to give back to a family in need in our community. In fact, we want to provide a full and generous Christmas to 2 Bedford County families! And we need YOUR help!
How to Nominate a Family in Need
Remember, we are limiting our nominations to Bedford County only, so please only nominate a family that lives within Bedford County. Here’s some of the info we will need in your nomination:
- Name of the family + their address
- Number of children + names (if you have gift ideas, we’d love to hear those too!)
- Why you think they should be chosen
We are accepting nominations via Facebook messenger from November 27th-December 9th! Click here to send us your nomination!
What Happens Next
Once we receive nominations, we will randomly draw the winner on December 10th. We will coordinate with the person who nominated the family, try our best to keep this a surprise for the family, and deliver the full Christmas package to them on Christmas Eve Eve — December 23rd!

I have a daughter in law that is in desperate need of any help! I have been battling lung cancer for a few months and been out of work myself and can’t be of much help for her any more. She works close to her home, and she walks to and from there and when me and my family can’t drive her to stores for groceries, she walks. No matter the weather. She works 50 to 60 plus hours a week and just now got caught up on her bills, with no help from her kids fathers. My son is the youngest ones father and he got messed up with meth and is currently incarcerated. He left them in terrible debt, back in February and she just now got caught up! It would be a great help, for her to be able to give her children a Christmas without going back into debt. I go back to lung dr tomorrow to see what I can do to beat this cancer. I had surgery on November 19 to remove the cancer but it wasn’t completely successful. It would help me and my family to know she has a car to depend on. This lady has been thru so much the last couple years. She had delivered a stillborn baby and it devastated the whole family, hence why my son turned to drugs. I pray for him to be better and I pray even harder that my daughter in law can have a Christmas for her self and her children! That would make my Christmas spectacular!!! I’ve tried to get her in a list of some kind to get help for Christmas but kinda failed with getting info. I’m not good with technology and I’m constantly trying to help her out when I’m able to.
