  • Overview

A silver 2024 Chevy Camaro 1SS is angled left.

Since it first hit the road more than 55 years ago, the Chevy Camaro has been one of the most powerful and definitive expressions of American muscle on the road. With the 2024 Chevy Camaro, we’re saying goodbye to the sixth generation of this legend and looking ahead to what the future of the Camaro might have to offer. But let’s not get too far ahead of ourselves—this final sixth-generation model year sees Chevy sending the Camaro out in style with a stunning selection of powerful engines and impressive special editions. There has never been a better time to be a Camaro fan, which might seem strange since its current run is coming to an end, but Chevy has made sure it goes out with a roar.

For starters, we find three different engines available for the 2024 Chevy Camaro, though your choice of trim affects which powertrain you get. You cannot go wrong with any of them, but there are clear differences in how much power each brings to the road. Looking at the standard trims, you will find the starting 3.6L V6 engine that delivers 335 hp and 284 lb-ft of torque, ensuring a fantastic driving experience. To fully experience everything the 2024 Camaro has to offer, however, you need to check out the ZL1 trim with its Supercharged V8 engine that provides a heart-pounding 650 hp and 650 lb-ft of torque, guaranteed to put a smile on your face.

With a powerful sports car like the Camaro, the interior can feel like an afterthought, but Chevy has made it clear that they have overlooked nothing inside or out. You will find comfortable seating with a spacious interior for you and your passengers in both the front and second row of seats, with impressive tech features and great options. Here at the end of its run, the 2024 Camaro is available in a number of special editions, including a Redline Edition that looks gorgeous and a ZL1-exclusive Garage 56 Edition to celebrate the Camaro’s run in the 24 Hours of Le Mans earlier this year. The once-in-a-generation Collector Edition is our favorite, with unique Panther Black exterior colors and gorgeous details inside and out, and it is offered on every Camaro trim level.

  • Powerful Engines

An orange 2024 Chevy Camaro ZL1 is shown rounding a corner at a race track.

As far as we are concerned, the most important part of any vehicle is the engine since so much of your driving experience depends on it. This is doubly true when looking at a sports car since you need a powerful engine that ensures you have a great time on the road. Chevy clearly understands this and makes some of the most exhilarating vehicles on the market, including the Corvette (of course) and the Camaro. You have three different engines for the 2024 Camaro, giving you the freedom to get exactly the sort of power and performance you want.

Your choice of trim level directly impacts which engine you get, so keep that in mind when looking at different options. Going with the standard Camaro LT (there are three versions of it available, but they all have the same engine) gets you the starting 3.6L DOHC V6 engine that provides 335 hp and 284 lb-ft of torque. This engine comes with a six-speed manual transmission standard, though a 10-speed automatic is available if you prefer a less demanding driving experience. You get rear-wheel drive with the Camaro, no matter which engine you choose, and these transmission options are the same across all three engines.

For something with more power packed into it, you can choose either the Chevy Camaro LT1 or SS, which both come with a 6.2L V8 engine that delivers 455 hp and 455 lb-ft of torque. This is a fantastic choice if you want something that will push you back in your seat, but you are not looking to go all the way with the available ZL1 trim. On the other hand, if you want to experience everything the Camaro has to offer, then you need to check out the ZL1, which comes with a Supercharged version of the V8 engine, delivering an incredible 650 hp and 650 lb-ft of torque. This is an absolute beast of an engine, designed for drivers who want something that will leave most other cars far behind in your dust.

  • Gorgeous Interior Options

Most sports cars are known for offering pretty tight and compact interiors, giving you very little room for friends or family to come along for the ride. The 2024 Chevy Camaro, however, delivers incredible power and a surprisingly spacious interior that makes it a solid choice if you want to bring people along with you. You can choose either a convertible or coupe design, based on what you prefer, and you get more than 38 inches of headroom and 44 inches of legroom in the front seats, with more than 33 inches of headroom and almost 30 inches of rear-seat legroom. You will probably be best off with kids in the back seats, as tall adults might find it a bit cramped, but this is still more room than you can find in similar vehicles.

Inside the 2024 Camaro, you will find a beautifully appointed interior that ensures you and your passengers have a fantastic driving experience. If you go with one of the standard LT trims, you have three options, each giving you more to enjoy inside. The standard 1LT, for example, comes with a six-speaker sound system, a 7.0-inch Infotainment screen, and an eight-way power driver’s seat to keep you comfortable. Going with the 3LT trim, however, gets you a stunning Bose premium sound system, a larger 8.0-inch Infotainment system, and a number of other upgrades to improve everyone’s comfort inside.

If you want a truly exceptional experience while driving your Camaro, then you should take a good look at the stunning ZL1 trim—the pinnacle trim for this beauty. Inside the ZL1, you will find the 8.0-inch Infotainment display with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto compatibility. This trim comes with a Bose premium sound system with nine speakers in coupe versions of the Camaro and seven speakers in convertible versions, plus heated and ventilated front seats. Due to the powerful engine packed into the ZL1, you get RECARO performance front bucket seats that are comfortable and provide you with extra support when letting this beast loose on the track.

  • Incredible Special Editions

A lot of the time, when looking at a vehicle, the special editions available for it are pretty minimal and might just offer a few unique details. For this final year for the sixth-generation Camaro, however, Chevy has gone all-out with an amazing selection of options to let you get the most from your car. The Redline Edition, for example, features 20-inch Black-painted aluminum wheels with Red accents, a Black Camaro fender badge with Red outline, and special Redline Edition graphics. Looking inside, the Jet Black interior beautifully punctuates its design and the available Sharkskin Metallic, Summit White, or Black exterior colors.

If you are interested in the ZL1 trim and want something different, then you should take a look at the special Garage 56 Edition—this is available only for the ZL1. The Garage 56 Edition features a new-for-2024 Riptide Blue exterior color, with thin gold stripes and a bold white stripe running from the hood to the rear deck lid, creating a unique look you will not find on any other versions. As a celebration of the Camaro driven in this year’s 24 Hours of Le Mans, the Garage 56 Edition features a special NASCAR 75th Anniversary logo and more unique details.

Capping things off, we come to our favorite special edition, the stunning Collector Edition, which is available exclusively for this final model year for the sixth generation. Offered on all trim levels, the exterior is slightly different depending on what you choose: with an LT, LT1, or SS trim, the Collector Edition features a Panther Black Metallic Tintcoat with a Black center stripe, 20-inch forged aluminum wheels, and a ZL1-design rear spoiler. The ZL1 trim instead features a Panther Black Matte exterior with a Black Metallic center stripe (essentially swapping matte and metallic features), with 20-inch Dark Graphite premium-painted wheels, carbon fiber features inside and out, and much more. No matter which Camaro trim you are interested in, this Collector Edition is the perfect choice if you are looking for something remarkable.
