The 2023 Chevy Bolt EV might not have a ton of major updates, but the biggest change for this year is one that we think everyone will be excited about: the price is dropping by nearly $6,000 on both trims. Considering the fact that the Bolt EV was already one of the most affordable and reliable EVs on the market, this is an amazing change and a great opportunity for anyone who has been interested in trying an EV but unsure of the price to finally see what all of the excitement is about.

  Performance with the 2023 model is as good as it has ever been, with a powerful motor that delivers 200 hp and makes it incredibly fun to drive. You can activate One-Pedal Driving with the push of a button to make your daily commute easier, plus Regen on Demand allows for the best range possible out of the Bolt EV. Speaking of range, you can get nearly 260 miles from a full charge, which makes this the perfect option for getting around town or going on long road trips. Charging is incredibly easy as it supports all current forms of charging; an available dual-level charge cord makes it simple to use both 120V and 240V connections, while DC Fast Charging can get you up to 100 miles of range from just a 30-minute charge.

  Inside the 2023 Bolt EV, you will find a beautiful interior that includes impressive technology, such as a 10.2-inch infotainment display with compatibility for Wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. You also get a lot of room inside the interior––it features a hatchback design with up to 57 cu.ft. of total cargo space inside with the rear seats folded down. The Bolt EV also helps keep you safe on the road, thanks to the Chevy Safety Assist package that comes standard on every model.   When looking at any vehicle, you want to make sure it has good enough performance to make it fun to drive and to get you where you need to go. The 2023 Chevy Bolt EV delivers a sporty and nimble experience that makes it perfect for daily drive and longer trips where you need to be able to rely on everything it has to offer. This model features a single motor, which is perfect for its small hatchback design, and it delivers 200 hp and 266 lb-ft of torque. While this might not sound like much compared to some other vehicles, it lets the Bolt EV go from 0 to 60 in just 6.5 seconds and makes it incredibly fun to drive.

  The Range

  The small design of the Bolt EV and its impressive motor also mean that you get an excellent range from it, making it ideal for all of your driving needs. With a full charge, the 2023 Bolt EV can get an estimated 259 miles of range before you need to recharge it. This is plenty of range for most people to utilize on a daily basis and you can likely handle your daily commute and running errands without ever taking the battery very low. With simple charging options at home or anywhere else you go, you can get the most from its range, plus the ability to turn on the Bolt EV’s Regen on Demand helps optimize range through a regenerative braking system.

  The Charging

  Charging the Chevy Bolt EV is easy since it supports all three current forms of EV charging systems, which you can use at home or out in public. A standard 120V connection lets you get about 4 miles of range from an hour of charging, and if you get a 240V at-home charger, then you can get about 39 miles of range from each hour of charging for a full charge in about 7 hours. With Chevy’s available dual-level charge cord, you can use a single connection for both 120V and 240V charging. At a public DC Fast Charge station, however, the Bolt EV can get up to 100 miles of range in just 30 minutes of charging, making it the perfect option for longer trips.

  The Space Inside

  Despite the small size of the Chevy Bolt EV, its hatchback design makes it incredibly functional and spacious enough to be very comfortable for you and your passengers. This might not rival a midsize or larger SUV, but if you want a great vehicle that is perfect for getting around town, then this is a fantastic option. It has seating for up to five passengers, with nearly 94 cu.ft. of passenger volume inside, so everyone is comfortable. Up in the front, you get just over 40 inches of headroom and more than 44 inches of legroom, while your backseat passengers can enjoy almost 38 inches of headroom and 36 inches of legroom.

  You also get plenty of space inside the 2023 Chevy Bolt EV for everything that you need to take with you, particularly if you do not have anyone in the rear seats. Behind the rear seats, you get 16.6 cu.ft. of storage room, which is easy to access thanks to the hatchback design. If you lower the rear seats, however, then you get 57 cu.ft. of total cargo volume inside the Bolt EV, which is perfect for loading up with bags from a big shopping trip, filling with supplies for a weekend of camping, and for everything else you need.

  The Best Interior Features

  The two available trims for the Bolt EV give you excellent comfort features and options: the standard 1LT trim provides cloth seating, while the 2LT comes with perforated leather seating for that extra touch of luxury. The technology inside the Bolt EV is also quite impressive and starts with a bold, 10.2-inch infotainment display that is standard on every model and provides you with real-time vehicle information. You also get an 8-inch digital driver information screen that provides you with additional data like your estimated current range as you drive and its status while charging. You get support for both Wireless Apple CarPlay and Wireless Android Auto standard, along with an available wireless charging pad.

  The Fantastic Safety Features

  When shopping for a car, the safety features on it are one of the most important things that you should always look at. While a lot of models out there have their best safety features locked behind the paywall of a high trim, the 2023 Chevy Bolt EV has fantastic systems standard on every model. This is because every Bolt EV comes with the Chevy Safety Assist package, which includes some of the best active safety features in the industry.

  You get a Following Distance Indicator to warn you when you are too close to a vehicle ahead of you and Automatic Emergency Braking plus Front Pedestrian Braking to help you avoid colliding with other cars and people. Every model also comes with a Lane Keep Assist system with Lane Departure Warning, which alerts you when you start to drift from your lane and can help you stay in your lane if needed. A Forward Collision Alert warns you when the Bolt EV detects that an impact might occur, while IntelliBeam auto high beams help illuminate the road for you automatically.

  These IntelliBeam auto high beams will also deactivate automatically when oncoming traffic is detected to avoid blinding other drivers. All models of the Bolt EV come with LED headlamps, which help keep the road illuminated and ensure other drivers can see you at night. If you want even more safety features, then options like a Lane Change Alert with Side Blind Zone Alert are also available. Adaptive Cruise Control is available on the 2LT trim, which adjusts your vehicle’s speed automatically based on traffic around you.
