Plenty of Features to Keep Everyone Safe

Chevrolet understands that safety matters, so they offer the Traverse with plenty of safety features to keep you and your family safe on the road. A Rear Vision Camera comes standard on all Traverse models. This safety feature shows what is directly behind you and helps you avoid nearby objects, and comes in very handy when you have to back into a tight parking space. A Forward Collision Alert is available, and it will warn you when it detects the possibility of a front-end collision. This safety feature will also warn you when it senses that you are too close to the vehicle in front of you.

For those with teenagers ready to drive or close to it, you will appreciate that Chevy includes their Teen Driver feature standard on all models. This safety system is actually made up of several features that help keep younger drivers and their passengers safe. Buckle-To-Drive is a feature that prevents the driver from shifting from park for up to 20 seconds if it senses that the driver’s seat belt is unfastened. It will also mute the audio until all occupants in the front seat are buckled in. An in-vehicle report card is available, and it shows how well the driver performed on their trip.

Other available safety features include Automatic Emergency Braking, Lane Keep Assist With Lane Departure Warning, and Rear Cross-Traffic Alert, which warns drivers when there is traffic behind you while in reverse. Adaptive Cruise Control is another great safety feature available with the Traverse. This feature automatically adjusts the vehicle’s speed, so you maintain the same gap between the Traverse and the vehicle in front, thus eliminating the need for the driver to brake and accelerate frequently.

    An Excellent Tech Feature

Another handy tech feature is the hands-free power liftgate, an available option that will make loading and unloading the Traverse easier. The hands-free liftgate enables you to open the liftgate with just a kick of your foot. To open the liftgate, kick your foot straight up in one swift motion under the rear bumper. What is also nice about this feature is that you can adjust the liftgate according to the height of your garage.

    The Engine

The 2021 Chevy Traverse is powered with a 3.6-liter V6 with 310 horsepower and 266 lb-ft of torque, and it is paired with a standard nine-speed automatic transmission. While this V6 doesn’t put out the power you will find in a V8, it is still a strong engine and perfectly capable of easily hauling around a load of passengers. It’s a good performing engine and packs enough power to easily pass slower traffic on the highway. And considering it is a V6, you can still expect decent fuel economy. In addition, the 2021 Traverse can tow up to 5,000 pounds, which is plenty of towing power for those with campers or have boats or other adult toys that need to be transported.

  • Interior

    There's Plenty of Room

One of the biggest assets the Traverse offers is its spacious interior. The driver and passengers will appreciate the head and legroom; even the third-row seating offers plenty of room for teens. The front headroom is 41.3 inches, legroom offers 41 inches, and shoulder room is 62.1 inches. You enjoy 40 inches of headroom in the second row of seating, with 38.4 inches of legroom and 62.2 inches of shoulder room. The third row of seating offers 38.2 inches of headroom, 33.5 inches of legroom, and 57.5 inches of shoulder room. The Traverse also offers plenty of cargo space; as a matter of fact, its cargo volume, 98.2 cubic feet with the second and third row of seats folded down, is best-in-class.

    A Versatile Design

The Traverse is a modern SUV and offers several tech features that make driving a unique and enjoyable experience. The Traverse is also a practical and versatile SUV, and this can be seen with the Smart Slide Second-Row Seat. Simply put, there is a latch on the second-row seat that, when engaged, the seat slides forward, and anyone can easily enter or exit the third-row seats. And when the passenger is in or out of the SUV, the seat slides back into its original position.

Perhaps one of the most unique features of the Traverse is the hidden storage area behind the infotainment screen. With the simple touch of a button, the screen rises to reveal a hidden compartment with enough room to fit sunglasses, cell phones, or whatever you feel like storing.

    The Infotainment System

There was a time when you had to pay extra for a touch screen infotainment system with smartphone integration, but this is now standard in most vehicles, including the Chevy Traverse. The Chevrolet Infotainment 3 System offers plenty of standard features. The primary point of interaction is the color touch screen, which is either 7-inches or 8-inches, depending on trim level. In addition to buttons on the steering wheel for control purposes, voice recognition is standard on most models. With the Chevrolet Infotainment System 3, you can connect your smartphone using Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, or Bluetooth. This connection enables you to send text messages, make phone calls and play music hands-free.

For those who desire a sporty-looking SUV, the RS delivers with 20-inch Dark Android painted aluminum wheels and black roof-mounted side rails, which really gives the Traverse a sharp look.

    The Premier

For those seeking more comfort and convenience in their Traverse, the Premier trim is the answer. With the Premier trim, drivers enjoy driver memory settings, perforated leather-appointed front seats that are heated and ventilated, and wireless device charging, so there is no need to panic because you forgot to pack your smartphone charging cord.

    The High Country

The High Country trim is the top-of-the-line model and includes the amenities and features found in the most luxurious vehicles on the market. In a nutshell, you get everything in the previous models plus a few intriguing features including, a two-panel power sunroof, adaptive cruise control, and a heavy-duty cooling system, which allows the engine to work even harder without overheating, which is ideal for towing applications.
