2020 CHEVROLET SILVERADO HD: MORE CAPABLE THAN EVER

The Chevrolet Silverado HD has always been a capable vehicle – and now, it’s even more so. Chevrolet recently announced its lineup of 2020 Chevrolet Silverado HD trucks, and they happen to be the most capable Silverado HDs ever.

This all-new pickup truck, which is the third all-new Silverado to be introduced in 18 months, has managed to increase its maximum towing capability by 52 percent. With this increase, the 2020 Silverado HD can tow up to 35,500 pounds.

“We set out to make the best HD trucks on the market, bar none,” said Jaclyn McQuaid, chief engineer for the Silverado HD. “We increased towing capabilities across the line, not just for dually buyers. We added class-leading towing technologies, such as 15 available camera views, to make trailering more convenient, whether pulling a large cargo trailer or fifth-wheel camper. And we made a host of changes to make tasks easier.”

The Silverado HD is now longer, wider, and taller. It comes with five trim levels to choose from: Work Truck, Custom, LT, LTZ, and High Country. With 22 available cab, bed, chassis, and driveline configurations, you can easily create the truck that’s right for you.

Chevrolet is offering two powertrain options for this heavy-duty truck. The first is a 6.6-liter V8 engine that is mated to a six-speed automatic transmission. It puts out 401 horsepower and 464 lb-ft of torque. Diesel lovers will also have an option in the Duramax® 6.6-liter turbodiesel V8 engine, which produces 445 horsepower and 910 lb-ft of torque. It comes paired to an all-new Allison® 10-speed automatic transmission.
