Performance Upgrades

GMC continues to deliver on its promise of a vehicle that’s both family-friendly and rugged with the 2024 Acadia. It beefed up the off-road trim—the AT4—with a lifted ride height for better ground clearance and visibility on rough roads. It also gets an active torque control all-wheel drive system, which sends power to the rear wheels when accelerating through corners and turns to help drivers maintain control, with improved hydraulic rebound control.

You’ll find a new standard engine under the hood of all 2024 trims. It’s a 2.5L four-cylinder turbocharged engine that boosts trailering capabilities. When adequately configured, this powertrain brings the Acadia’s trailering capabilities up to 5,000 lbs. This engine is paired with an eight-speed automatic transmission.

The 2023 Acadia got an EPA mileage rating of 22 MPG in the city and 29 MPG on the highway, with a combined rating of 25 MPG. With its new, more efficient engine, the 2024 model should do better than that.

The Acadia has an available hands-free driver-assist system, Super Cruise, on this 2024 model. This semi-autonomous system can handle braking and accelerating for you while obeying driver-input space-gap demands. If you tackle long highway drives on a regular basis, you’ll enjoy taking a little break from switching between the gas and brake pedals. What’s especially exciting about this year’s Acadia is that it brings the Super Cruise system to the manufacturer’s Premium and Elevation trims for the first time. It was previously only available on the Denali trim.

Starting MSRP

GMC has not yet revealed the starting price for the 2024 GMC Acadia. Experts predict it will come in at just below $40,000, making it a few thousand dollars pricier than the 2023 model. However, given the tremendous size increase and technology upgrades, we’d say the price increase—if it turns out to be true—would be more than justified. We anticipate the prices of each trim to go up in similar increments as in previous years.
